Swim snorkels are made especially for competitive swimmers. Rather than the snorkel sitting on the side of the swimmer’s head (as traditional with recreational snorkel gear), swim snorkels sit on the front of the swimmers head. A headband keeps the snorkel on the swimmer’s forehead, so that it does not obstruct arm or shoulder motion.

Swim snorkels are used during practice sessions to help the swimmer to find the right body position. Without having to lift or turn the head, the swimmer can experiment with different head positions.
